ભારતમાં નબળા ચોમાસા બાદ સપ્ટેમ્બર મહિનામાં સામાન્ય કરતાં ઓછો વરસાદ નોંધાઈ રહ્યો છે, જેના કારણે ચિંતા ઊભી થઈ છે. હવામાનની સ્થિતિને કારણે કપાસ, સોયાબીન, મકાઈ અને ચોખા જેવા મહત્વના ઉનાળુ પાકના ઉત્પાદન અંગે પણ ચિંતા વ્યક્ત કરવામાં આવી રહી છે.

તાજેતરના અહેવાલો અનુસાર, જૂન મહિનામાં વરસાદ સામાન્ય કરતાં નોંધપાત્ર રીતે ઓછો રહ્યો હતો અને ઓગસ્ટમાં પણ વરસાદની અછત જોવા મળી હતી. આ સ્થિતિ ખાસ મહત્વપૂર્ણ છે, કારણ કે ઘણા પાકો હાલમાં વૃદ્ધિના મહત્વપૂર્ણ તબક્કામાં છે અને તેમને પૂરતા પ્રમાણમાં ભેજની જરૂર છે.
